BATTLE OF BANU QURAYZAH:-
Banu Qurayza had broken their promise and supported the
Quraish of Makkah. When the Messenger of Allah, (peace and blessings of Allah be
upon him), came to Madinah from Ghazwah trench and laid down his arms, Hazrat
Gabriel came and said: “ O Messenger of Allah! Allah Almighty has ordered
that he should take an army and leave for Banu Qurayzah.” He (PBUH)
ordered the Companions to offer Asr prayer in Banu Qurayzah. Hazrat Ali,( may
Allah be pleased with him), arrived there with the Islamic flag and an army of
companions. The Jews insulted Prophet (may Allah peace be upon him ) and were
not even ready to reconcile, so the siege of his fort continued for about
twenty-five days. Finally, when the siege was narrow, they entrusted the matter
of reconciliation first to Hazrat Abu Lubaba, then Hazrat Saad bin Muadh, that
we accept their every decision. According to the Torah, they decided that all
fighting men should be killed, women and children should be enslaved, property and
wealth should be distributed among the Muslims. According to this decision Banu
Quraiza was arrested and brought to Medina and killed. Hayy bin Akhtab and Ka’b
bin Asad, the leader of Banu Qurayzah, were also killed, so that the
promise-breakers and cheaters would learn a lesson forever and future
generations would learn a lesson. Thus Madinah was forever protected from the
plots of the enemies.
