HAZRAT DAWOOD (PEACE BE UPON HIM): -
Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) was born in the Bani
Israel about one thousand years before Esa (peace be upon him), he killed King Jaloot
and saved the Bani Israel from his persecution. After Adam (peace be upon him),
Allah gave him the title of “Khalifa”. He was a prophet and a
messenger and a ruler and a king at the same time. Allah Almighty gave them a
book called “Zabur” (Psalms), which contained commands according
to the Torah, but most of it contained praise and worship of Allah, glad
tidings, sermons and advice, and glorification of Allah. Allah gave such a
voice to Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) that when he recited the Psalms, the
jinn and humans and even the wild animals and birds all started swaying and
engaged in praise and glorification. They also understood the speech of birds,
Allah had softened iron for them, he could easily make armor and protect himself
from the enemy by wearing them on the occasion of battle, and also he used to
manage their livelihood by selling.
THE PROHPHETHOOD AND RULE OF HAZRAT DAWOOD (PEACE BE UPON HIM): -
Before Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him), there were two
separate families of prophethood and government in Bani Israel, Prophethood was
in the family of Judah and government and kingdom was in the family of Ephraim.
Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) is the first person of Bani Israel, who was
given prophethood and government together by Allah, he was the prophet and
messenger of God and also the ruler and king of Bani Israel. He revived the Shariah
of Hazrat Moosa (peace be upon him) and tried to lead his people on the
straight path, and he successfully ruled over the Israelites for forty or
seventy years. For the first seven years their capital was Hebron. Then
he made Jerusalem his capital. In a short period of time, his rule extended to
Syria, Iraq, Palestine and East Jordan, among other countries. In the history
of Israel, his reign is considered exemplary in terms of national conquests and
good governance. He died at the age of 100 while worshiping Allah and was
buried in the city of Zion.

Cursed were those who
disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of Dawood and of Jesus,
the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.

Maida: - 78
And We gave to Ibrahim,
Ishaq and Yaqoob – all [of them] We guided. And Noah, We guided before; and
among his descendants, Dawood and Sulaiman and Job and Yusuf and Moosa and Haroon.
Thus do We reward the doers of good.
Surah
Anaam: - 84
And [mention] Dawood and Sulaiman,
when they judged concerning the field – when the sheep of a people overran it
[at night], and We were witness to their judgment.

Anbiya: - 78
And We gave understanding
of the case to Sulaiman, and to each [of them] We gave judgment and knowledge.
And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with Dawood and [also] the
birds. And We were doing [that].
Surah
Anbiya: - 79
And Sulaiman inherited Dawood.
He said, “O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been
given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty.”
Surah
Namal: - 16
And We certainly gave Dawood from Us bounty.
[We said], “O mountains, repeat [Our] praises with him, and the birds [as
well].” And We made pliable for him iron,

Saba: - 10
They made for him what he
willed of elevated chambers, statues, bowls like reservoirs, and stationary
kettles. [We said], “Work, O family of Dawood, in gratitude.” And few of My
servants are grateful.

Saba: - 13
Be patient over what they
say and remember Our servant, Dawood, the possessor of strength; indeed, he was
one who repeatedly turned back [to Allah].

Suaad: - 17
When they entered upon Dawood
and he was alarmed by them? They said, “Fear not. [We are] two adversaries, one
of whom has wronged the other, so judge between us with truth and do not exceed
[it] and guide us to the sound path.
Surah
Suaad: - 22
[Dawood] said, “He has
certainly wronged you in demanding your ewe [in addition] to his ewes. And
indeed, many associates oppress one another, except for those who believe and
do righteous deeds – and few are they.” And Dawood became certain that We had
tried him, and he asked forgiveness of his Lord and fell down bowing [in
prostration] and turned in repentance [to Allah].
Surah
Suaad: - 24
[We said], “O Dawood,
indeed We have made you a successor upon the earth, so judge between the people
in truth and do not follow [your own] desire, as it will lead you astray from
the way of Allah .” Indeed, those who go astray from the way of Allah will have
a severe punishment for having forgotten the Day of Account.

Suaad: - 26
And to Dawood We gave Sulaiman.
An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah].
