OBLIGATION OF RAMADAN AND JOY OF EID:-
In 2 Hijri, the fasting of Ramadan became obligatory. In the
same year, the commandment of Sadaqah Al-Fitr and Zakat was also
revealed. Before the fasting of Ramadan, the fast of Ashura was
observed, but it was optional. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings
be upon him, came to Madinah, he saw that the people of Madinah celebrate two
days in a year with sports and spectacles, so he asked them what the reality of
these two days is. The Companions said: We used to watch sports during these 2/
days in the age of ignorance, so the Messenger of Allah, (peace and blessings
be upon him), said: Allah has replaced these 2/ days with better days,
which are Eid ul-Adha and Eid ul-Fitr. Eid was celebrated for the first
time on the 1st of Shawwal of 2nd Hijri. Allah
Almighty granted the joys and happiness of Eid after placing the crown of
victory and honor on the heads of the Muslims, When the Muslims left their
homes and went to the field to perform the Eid prayer, raising the voices of Takbeer,
Tawheed(ALLAHU AKBAR) and Tasbih(SUBHAN ALLAH) and Tahmid(ALHUMDULILLAH), their hearts were filled
with the blessings of Allah. And in this
spirit of gratitude, their foreheads were bowed before Allah in the double
prayer.
