The Construction Of Masjid Nabawi and The Beginning Of The Call To Prayer(ADHAN)
THE CONSTRUCTION OF MASJID NABAWI: -
After the Hijra, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah
be upon him) first built a mosque, which is known today as “Masjid Nabawi”.
The same place was chosen for him, where the Prophet’s camel was sitting, this
land belonged to two orphans of Banu Najjar, which he bought for a price.
During Its construction, he(PBUH) along with the Companions used to pick up
stones, the Companions used to recite these verses enthusiastically, and the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) joined them in his voice and
recited: “O Allah! The real reward is the reward of the Hereafter, O Allah!
Have mercy on the Ansar and the Muhajirin.” This mosque was a true picture
of the simplicity of Islam, three doors of this mosque were built, the two
doors of the door were made of stone and the walls were made of raw brick and
mortar. The pillars were made of palm trunks and the roof of palm branches and
leaves. From the wall of the Qiblah to the back wall was a hundred cubits long.
This mosque was not only a place for offering prayers, but also a center for
Islamic education and a center for preaching and preaching and solving all the
problems of the world. There were holy persons like its imam, the Prophet of
Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his prayer companions.
THE BEGINNING OF THE CALL TO PRAYER: -
Hazrat Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, says that
the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) advised gathering
the congregation for prayer, so the companions of the Prophet (may Allah be
pleased with him) offered different opinions, one of them advised to play the
trumpet like the Jews, and the other advised him to ring the bell like the
Christians, but the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not
like it, but gave him an opportunity to think. On the same night, Hazrat Umar
(RA) heard the call to prayer in his dream, and one of his companions, Abdullah
bin Zayd bin Abd Rabbah (RA) also saw it in a dream that a person was saying
the words of Adhan, he remembered it and as soon as his eyes opened, he came to
the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, at the time of
Tahajjud and narrated the dream. He ordered Hazrat Bilal to give the Azan for
Fajr with these words. As soon as he heard the Azan, Hazrat Umar came running
first and said: I have also heard the words of the Azan in a dream. Since then,
the series of calling the Adhan started, the first muezzin in Islam was Hazrat
Bilal (RA) and the second was Hazrat Abdullah bin Umm Maktoum (RA). Hazrat
Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him, said first in the Fajr Adhan ((Salat
is good from sleep)), which was liked by the Holy Prophet (peace be upon
him).
