THE TRENCHERS: -
Between the country of Syria and Hejaz there was a town
called Najran, whose king and the whole nation were idolaters, there lived a
magician, the government was running on the advice of this magician, when the
time of his death approached, So requested to the king that a clever boy be
given to me, to whom I can teach my knowledge, so the king gave a boy named
Abdullah bin Tamur, who began to learn magic, one day he met a monk on the way,
who was on religion But he secretly accepted the faith and started preaching
the truth and people started to enter the faith. When the king came to know
about this, he made several plans to kill the boy but he failed, finally the
boy said to the king: If you want to kill me, then gather all the people of the
city and kill me. Hang on and then shoot an arrow at me saying (In the name of
Allah, Lord of the Ghulam). The king did so, and the boy was martyred, but all
the people of the congregation entered into faith. Seeing this, the king was
shocked and he dug trenches and set them on fire and killed about twenty
thousand believers.
