COMPANIONS OF THE CAVE: -

Allah Almighty has mentioned “Companions of the Cave” in Surah Kahaf of the Holy Qur’an. In the 3rd century AD, there was a polytheist king named Dacianus in Rome, he tried to popularize idolatry among the Romans and end Christianity. When the king threatened his religion and his life, he ran away and took refuge in a cave. They are called Companions of the Cave. Allah made them sleep and they slept in the cave, there was also a dog with them who sat at the mouth of the cave and protected them, then after three hundred and nine years Allah Almighty awakened them with His power one of them came to the city with old coins of his time to buy food, then the people came to know about these young people, now the conditions of the country had changed and at that time the king was a believer, but in that time A priest had denied the resurrection of the dead on the Day of Judgment and the people were falling into temptation, when the people of such old times returned, everyone was convinced of the resurrection on the Day of Resurrection and the priest’s words Proved false.

They will say there were three, the fourth of them being their dog; and they will say there were five, the sixth of them being their dog – guessing at the unseen; and they will say there were seven, and the eighth of them was their dog. Say, [O Muhammad], “My Lord is most knowing of their number. None knows them except a few. So do not argue about them except with an obvious argument and do not inquire about them among [the speculators] from anyone.”
