HAZRAT ZAKARIYA (PEACE BE UPON HIM): -
Hazrat Zakariya (peace be upon him) was the chosen prophet
of Allah and the leader of Bani Israel. He found the time of Hazrat Isa (peace
be upon him). It has been the rule of all prophets that they used to live by
the earnings of their hands. Hazrat Zakariya (peace be upon him) had also
adopted the profession of carpentry for his livelihood. He was the one who took
care of the mother of Hazrat Isa (peace be upon him), Maryam (peace be upon
him). Hazrat Zakariya (peace be upon him) was old, but he had no children and
there was no one in his family who was going to perform the service of guiding
and guiding the children of Israel after him; Therefore, he were always worried
about who will do this work after me. Once, after seeing the unseasonal fruits
of Hazrat Maryam (peace be upon him), he asked, “Maryam!” ”Where did
it come from? So she said that it is from Allah Almighty. Hazrat Zakariya
(peace be upon him) said that God, who is able to give fruits without season,
can also give children in old age.” So, he asked Allah Almighty for a good
and righteous child, Allah Almighty accepted his prayer and gave him a son like
Hazrat Yahya (peace be upon him) in his old age.

So her Lord accepted her
with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and put her in the
care of Zakariya. Every time Zakariya entered upon her in the prayer chamber,
he found with her provision. He said, “O Mary, from where is this [coming] to
you?” She said, “It is from Allah. Indeed, Allah provides for whom He wills
without account.”
Surah
Imraan: - 37
At that, Zakariya called
upon his Lord, saying, “My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring.
Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication.”

And Zakariya and John and
Jesus and Elias – and all were of the righteous.

mercy of your Lord to His servant Zakariya

He said, “My Lord, how
will I have a boy when my wife has been barren and I have reached extreme old
age?”

people from the prayer chamber and signaled to them to exalt [Allah] in the
morning and afternoon.

And [mention] Zakariya, when he called to his
Lord, “My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of
inheritors.”
