HAZRAT UZAIR (PEACE BE UPON HIM): -
Hazrat Uzair (peace be upon him) is a descendant of the
Prophet of Bani Israel and Hazrat Haroon (peace be upon him). Allah Almighty has
mentioned them in Surah Tauba. He was a Hafiz of the Torah and a
great scholar, when Bakhti-Nazar King defeated the Israelites and completely
destroyed Palestine and Jerusalem and took them as slaves to Babylon and burned
all the manuscripts of the Torah to ashes. Lost a great heavenly book like the Torah,
then Allah ordered Hazrat Uzair (peace be upon him) to rebuild Bait
al-Maqdis, he expressed his surprise seeing its desolation, then Allah made
him sleep for a year. When he woke up after a hundred years of sleep and saw
that the Holy Temple had been settled, Hazrat Uzair recited the entire Torah
and wrote it down to the end. Because of this great feat, the Jews called him
the Son of God They said, and even today, a sect of Jews in Palestine calls
Hazrat Uzair (peace be upon him) the son of God and worships him by making a
statue of him. In the Holy Qur’an, Allah corrected their false belief that he
were the servant of Allah and His true messenger, after the resettlement of
Palestine, he reformed the people for fifty years and died in the village of
“Sairabad” in Iraq around 485 BC.
