HAZRAT SULAIMAN (PEACE BE UPON HIM): -
Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) is the son of Hazrat
Dawood (peace be upon him). His lineage reaches to Hazrat Yaqoob (peace be upon
him) through Judah. He has been mentioned in sixteen places in the Holy
Quran and the rewards and favors bestowed on him by Allah Almighty have been
mentioned. Allah Almighty had blessed Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) with
natural intelligence and the ability to make decisions, that is why Hazrat
Dawood (peace be upon him) had entrusted many tasks of the government to this
gifted son despite his young age. And used to consult them especially in the
decisions of cases. Then after Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) Allah gave
prophethood and ruler ship to Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him).
THE PROHPHETHOOD AND RULE OF HAZRAT SULAIMAN (PECAE BE UPON HIM): -
When Hazrat Dawood (peace be upon him) passed away, Allah
Almighty gave Prophethood and ruler ship to Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon
him). In this way, on the one hand, he used to guide the Bani Israel in the
religious matters, on the other hand, he also performed the duties of the
collective and individual life of these people and the administration of the country.
Allah Almighty blessed Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) with many qualities.
He understood the speech of all the birds as well as the speech of ordinary
humans. Allah subjugated the wind to them, that’s why they used to complete a
month’s journey in half a day. Even the giants were subservient and obedient to
him. It was through the giants that they built the Al-Aqsa Mosque
and other magnificent buildings and carved stones to make huge reservoirs and
took the work of extracting diamonds and gems from the seas. During the
construction of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon
him) died at the age of 35.
INVITATION TO ISLAM TO THE QUEEN OF SABA: -
During the time of Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him), a
woman named Bilqis was ruling over the people of Saba, her people and
herself were suffering from disbelief, polytheism and idolatry, and considered
the sun as their greatest god. It is in the Holy Qur’an that Hazrat Sulaiman
(peace be upon him) was informed about this situation by Hudhud bird.
Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) sent a letter to the queen through Hudhud,
inviting her and her people to accept Islam. When Queen Saba received this
letter, she consulted her courtiers. Then some people were sent to the service
of Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) with many gifts and gifts to test his
truthfulness. So he (peace be upon him) returned, and when these people
returned, he informed the queen about it and said: Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be
upon him) does not only rule over humans, but also over jinn and birds.
BRINGING THE QUEEN OF SHEBA TO ISLAM: -
The Queen of Saba, Bilqis, heard about the glory of
Hazrat Sulaiman, and started preparing to attend his service. He took the
queen’s throne in the blink of an eye through a minister. And changed its
appearance a little. When the queen reached the court, Hazrat Sulaiman (peace
be upon him) asked: Is your throne like this? The queen said: As if it is
the same. Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) built a palace and built a
large tank in its courtyard and filled it with water and laid a beautiful glass
floor on top of it. The onlookers felt that water was flowing in the courtyard.
When Queen Saba reached the courtyard, seeing the water, she wrapped a cloth
around her leg to enter it. Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) said: There
is no need for it, because the entire courtyard is made of beautiful glass.
This was a severe blow to the Queen’s intellect. Now he understood the reality
that what is happening is only to make us believe that the One who gave such
unparalleled things to Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon him) is one, who is the
owner of the entire universe, then his disbelief and She was ashamed of
polytheism and believed in the blessed hand of Hazrat Sulaiman (peace be upon
him).
Some Quranic Ayah Related to Article: -
And they followed
[instead] what the devils had recited during the reign of Sulaiman. It was not Sulaiman
who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that
which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two
angels do not teach anyone unless they say, “We are a trial, so do not
disbelieve [by practicing magic].” And [yet] they learn from them that by which
they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone
through it except by permission of Allah. And the people learn what harms them
and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that
whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And
wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew.
