The Invitation Of Hazrat Saleh A.S. Punishment on the people of Hazrat Saleh (peace be upon him).
THE NATION OF THAMUD:-
The nation of Thamud is mentioned 23 times in the holy Quran.
This nation is the most famous and oldest nation of Arabia after the death of
Aad. His lineage is traced back to Sam, the son of Prophet Noah (peace be upon
him). They had settlements in the Wadi Quri plain between Hejaz and Syria, the
ruins and traces of which still exist today. Their capital was in Hajar, north
of Madinah Tayyaba. Which is now called "Mudain Saleh". The era of this nation
dates back to before Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him), it was a civilized,
advanced, powerful and very rich nation of its time, and built huge buildings
by carving mountains and paying heavy labor to stone carvers to make huge
idols. Knitting was the favorite pastime of his life, so much devotion and love
for idols was created in his hearts that he started to consider worshiping them
as a means of salvation, leaving Allah Almighty. When polytheism and idolatry
became too much in this nation, Allah sent Saleh (A.S) as a messenger to guide
and correct them.
THE INVITATION OF HAZRAT SALEH (PEACE BE UPON HIM):-
Hazrat Saleh (peace be upon him) was born about a hundred
years after Hazrat HUD (peace be upon him) and is mentioned eight times in the
Quran. Allah sent him to guide and guide the people of Thamud. This nation was
very proud of its glory, honor, pride, polytheism and idolatry. Hazrat Saleh
(peace be upon him) advised them and said: O people! Worship only Allah, there
is none worthy of worship but him. After hearing this message of truth, they
started expressing their hatred and demanding the removal of a pregnant camel
from the mountain for the truth of the prophecy. Hazrat Saleh(peace be upon
him) prayed Allah Almighty created a camel from a hard rock as a miracle, but
even after receiving the miracle according to his desire, this unfortunate
nation did not obey and disobedience reached such a level that the camel was
killed. He killed him and did not stop there, but also planned to kill Hazrat Saleh
(peace be upon him). After three days, a loud cry and an earthquake destroyed
the entire nation. After this, Hazrat Saleh (as) migrated to Palestine with
believers.

And to the Thamud [We
sent] their brother Saleh. He said, “O my people, worship Allah; you have no
deity other than Him. There has come to you clear evidence from your Lord. This
is the she-camel of Allah [sent] to you as a sign. So leave her to eat within Allah‘s
land and do not touch her with harm, lest there seize you a painful punishment.

Aeyraaf: - 73
Said the eminent ones who were arrogant among
his people to those who were oppressed – to those who believed among them, “Do
you [actually] know that Saleh is sent from his Lord?” They said, “Indeed we,
in that with which he was sent, are believers.”

Aeyraaf: - 75
And he turned away from them and said, “O my
people, I had certainly conveyed to you the message of my Lord and advised you,
but you do not like advisors.”

Aeyraaf: - 79
And to Thamud [We sent]
their brother Saleh. He said, “O my people, worship Allah; you have no deity
other than Him. He has produced you from the earth and settled you in it, so
ask forgiveness of Him and then repent to Him. Indeed, my Lord is near and
responsive.”

Hood: - 61
But they hamstrung her, so he said, “Enjoy
yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a promise not to be denied.”

So when Our command came,
We saved Saleh and those who believed with him, by mercy from Us, and [saved
them] from the disgrace of that day. Indeed, it is your Lord who is the
Powerful, the Exalted in Might.

When their brother Saleh
said to them, “Will you not fear Allah?

Shooaraa:- 142
And We had certainly sent
to Thamud their brother Saleh, [saying], “Worship Allah ,” and at once they
were two parties conflicting.

They said, “Take a mutual
oath by Allah that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will
say to his executor, ‘We did not witness the destruction of his family, and
indeed, we are truthful.’ “
